ECB Media Release
June 6, 2001
Mathew Hoggard has been called up to the England Squad for the NatWest Series to cover for the injury to Andy Caddick. Caddick is suffering from a back strain and is not expected to be fit to play in the first two games of the Series.
Hoggard is currently playing for Yorkshire in the CricInfo Championship game against Kent at Headingley. Yorkshire will be able to field a "participating" substitute under ECB Playing Regulations.
