Congratulations to Mishra. DC just manufactured a loophole!!. India do not allow Dual Citizenship. Closest thing is an OCI (which is a glorified lifelong visa with some perks). Indian citizens acquiring US (or other foreign) citizenship and renouncing Indian citizenship are required to surrender their Indian passports for cancellation and obtain a "Surrender Certificate" which is issued by the Consulate.Penalties will be charged from those passport holders who do not surrender their passports within 3 months of their acquiring foreign citizenship.The Penalty for each such travel to India on Indian Passport after acquiring foreign nationality is US$ 250/-. Please see the provisions in the Passports Act 1967............................................................................... This is probably case of the Author not having all his facts for his story.

its gud to see a kenian player in the ipl who blast the australian bowling attack in the wc.another player is there biplab samantaray who is the highest run getter and highest wicket taker in odisha premiure league(opl) .he is a gud all rounder.he is known as a big hitter in indian domestic cricket.i remember one match in opl he score 169 from 62 ball in a opl t20 match.......

dc hav a great youngster called ashish reddy in the team who played under 19 world cup too and was the only person to represent hyd in under 19 world cup frm recent 1-2 world cups and he has a great strike rate and is an fast bowling allrounder !! if he gets some mathces then he will be a great talent for dc but the foreign captains dont know much abt him hope they giv chance to ashish reddy [not akshay reddy ]

need some scouting / trial camps in Assam. there are guys who needs exposure. But KKR is not doing enough.

IPL franchises should remember that this is indian league...first sahara's demands of 5 overseas players and nw this move by DC ....shows that these teams dont care abt talented local indian players..

Apart from Akshat Reddy n T Sudhindra they are all ordinary players ,Tanmaya Mishra Indian citizen or not remains good enough only for Kenya !! anyone who has followed Tanmaya Srivastava for U.P will no that he is limited in his strokeplay and makes Akash Chopra look positively Gilchrist ....Chargers need to find players from there own pocket or there are so many India u-19 or u-21 players to choose from....c'mon chargers get hold of a Indian who can do the scouting for you.

@Anupam Modi: While you are true in that India does not offer dual citizenship, it is unfair to say Mishra should be treated as an overseas player! AFAIK, an OCI entitles a person to majority of the rights of a normal citizen of India. Atleast for the sake of the "Citizen" in the abbreviation OCI, Tanmay should be treated like a domestic player. It opens up doors for Indian origin people in the IPL which would be a great thing in a country where NRIs and OCIs are not quite looked at that favourably.

@ yougander Yes, Good to see these youngsters! Akshath reddy and lalith mohan were instrumental in restoring hyderabad's position back to the elite league. Tanmay, sudhindra etc are good but I guess DC has been picking too many players from outside their zone rather than looking at their own back yard.

This is very good selection of tanmay mishra as indian home player!! He will be a handy addition to the team and wont take a overseas player spot.

Awesome, good luck Mishra. Great to see the associate players get some credit when they put in good performances. And is says nothing about dual-citizenship in the article, it says he holds an Indian passport because he was born there.
