With defending champions Chennai Super Kings still fourth in the points table after a five-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday, Super Kings' coach Stephen Fleming has said that it's the first time his side has been challenged for form in the last two years.

Super Kings, who were IPL champions in 2010 and 2011, have lost five out of ten matches this year. "The nature of which we are playing needs to improve and we need to look at the personnel as well as this is the first time we've been challenged for form," Fleming said. "We have been a very consistent side, but now we have to make the right decisions based on what our captain needs."

Super Kings' batsmen have struggled to find form this year, with their top-scorer Faf du Plessis averaging 37.11 from nine innings. Fleming said that his side must play well as a unit if they want to succeed. "We're just not getting enough runs and defending well enough," Fleming said, "He [MS Dhoni, the captain] needs to be supported in the field. We must reassess which bowlers we need and hope our batsmen score more. Things must improve quickly."

On Monday, Knight Riders outperformed Super Kings with bat and ball as they failed to string together substantial partnerships and missed a number of run-out chances. Fleming said that though his batsmen played well, bowling and fielding was a concern.

"Today we showed a lot more intent on a tough wicket but when we tried to push ahead or clear the boundary we missed out the 15 to 20 runs that we needed. Knight Riders had one good partnership (between Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis) that took the game out of our reach," Fleming said.

Except Ashwin there is no threat in CSK bowling. Bollinger is overrated. MSD is the only one in the world who thinks AMorkel is a bowler. POINT 1: *Hilfenhaus should be in for MHussey*. AMorkel is also a pretty ordinary fielder. I will keep albie only for his once-in-blue-moon 25 of 6 balls!! POINT 2: *Jadeja should open with DuPlesis* because nowadays opponents start with spin. DuPlessis+Jadeja will confuse opponents since one plays pace and other plays spin better. PONT 3: Yes, follow the last year's policy of *Badri in, if wkts fall early*. Other than that, Badri should go as last recog-bat. PONT 4: *All unorthodox hitters should come early to use powerplay* . POINT 5: MSD, please, practice hitting out first 6 balls. You are wasting 2 overs at least for *getting your eye in*. POINT 6: Vignesh is an explsive bat. So, 1.DuPlessis, 2.Jadeja, 3.Vignesh, 4.Albie, 5.Raina, 6.MSD, 7.Bravo, 8.Badri, 9.YMahesh, 10.Ashwin, 11.Hifenhaus. Except Badri & Dhoni every one else can bowl

Agree with @Nalinraaja..both Bollinger and Hilfenhaus HAVE to play. Supported by Ashwin, Morkel and Jakati.

past 4 years csks main strength relies on batting their scoring rate in first six and last five overs was tremendous but now they are playing to complete 20 overs...

The problem starts when a wicket falls and dhoni comes in to bat. He should be aiming for at least 4 or 5 boundries in the mid overs. Last game it was poor performance from Dhoni and it cost the match.I also noticed that the bowlers are shrewd, not to pitch in his zone. Because of his terrible form he is not able to hit odd balls in his zone too. But still we have our hopes on u!!! 3 in a row!!!!!!!!

CSK are supposed to be one of the strong teams in the IPL because all of their perform to some extent according to the roles they are given. They have done that successfully over the past 4 years but this year they seem to lack that extra bite one associates with world beaters. Perhaps they need inspiration from their captain MSD who hasn't been the same player over the past year . All they need is one innings or speel of brilliance you know that is a contender for the Moment of the IPL. Hope it comes sooner rather than later. Team changes: where is Hilfenhaus? he is a brilliant bowler and should be in the team.

CSK and Doni should look to put only the players who are in form, Also they should strengthen the bowling department, Bollinger is best bowler to put slog overs there are lot of chances CSK missed because of bad slog overs,. already enough batsman inline, why can't we use Vijay inplace of badri,.. and bollinger inplace of Magesh and put either hussey / Faf

Vijay Flessis (better fileder) / Hussey Raina Doni Jadeja Bravo Abhi Ashwin Jagati Bollinger : (Experinced vs top batsman) should be used for right hand batsman and slog overs.

Simple solution: Drop Jadeja and play, see how CSK starts to Rock. No doubt they will be the hattrick champions.

My CSK is: Badri, Faff, Raina, Dhoni, Anirudh, Bravo, Jadeja, Ashwin, Jakati, Hifenhaus & Bollinger This was we have a good pace attack (Hilfehaus, Bollinger & Bravo), reasonable spin (Ashwin, Jakati, Jadeja & Raina) with atleast 7 batsmen who can slog the ball (Badri, Faff, Raina, Dhoni, Anirudh, Bravo, Jadeja).

Replacements: Hussey for Faff, Albie for Bravo, Kula for Hifenhaus and Vijay (not Saha) for Anirudh :))

I firmly believe that CSK spent a lot of money this year and bought bad luck. Yes, I am talking about Jadeja. I wonder if there is any series India has won which Jadeja has been playing starting from T20 World cup. Thank god Jadeja did not play in ODI world cup. He does not have the potential to bat as well as bowl effectively, but keeps himself a tag of all rounder and Dhoni's madness about Jadeja being used as an all rounder. I believe using an allrounder to no effect bat or bowl, he can better use an effective batter or bowler.

Jadeja and Jakati are not performing and are a disappointments - especially the million dollar boy - Jadeja !
