  • It was West Indies' 396th and Pakistan's 463rd match.
  • Umpires Steve Bucknor and B. Morgan were officiating in their 73rd and tenth match respectively.
  • The wicket of Wavell Hinds was 150th for Mushtaq Ahmed. Playing in his 133rd match Mushtaq became sixth Pakistani and 24th bowler overall to complete his 150 wickets.
  • Pakistan's total (117) was its lowest against West Indies in West Indies.Infact it was only second time when Pakistan was dismissed in a match in West Indies. The only other such occasion took place at Portof-Spain on 18-03-1988. Pakistan made 265 then. Pakistan's previous lowest in a match on West Indian soil (in which it played its full quota of 50 overs) was 166 for 9 at Port-of-Spain on 15-03-1988.
  • Pakistan's total was also the third lowest by a side on West Indian soil. England had made 114 at Bridgetown on 19-03-1986 and New Zealand had made 116 at Port-of-Spain on 17-04-1985.
  • Franklyn Rose became 18th West Indian bowler to capture five wickets in a match.His figures (5-23) were the best for West Indies against Pakistan in all matches -home or awayputting into shade Ian Bishop's 5 for 25 at Brisbane on 09-01-1993. The previous best for WestIndies against Pakistan on home soil was Curtly Ambrose's 4 for 35 at St.John's on 15-03- 1988. Incidentally Rose's previous personal best was 3 for 25 against India at Port-of-Spain on 26-04-1997.
  • Rose, infact, became only the fourth bowler to take five wickets in a match in West Indies after Colin Croft (6 for 15, v England at Kingstown on 04-02-1981), Tony Gray (6-50, v Australia at Port-of-Spain on 09-03-1991) and Sanath Jayasuriya (5 for 58,v West Indies at Port-of-Spain on 06-06- 1997).
  • Rose's figures were the fourth joint best by any bowler against Pakistan after Australia's Carl Rackemann's 5 for 16 at Adelaide on 30-01-1984, India's Saurav Ganguly's 5 for 16 at Toronto on 18-09-1997, India's Arshad Ayub's 5 for 21 at Dhaka on 31-10-1988 and Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan's 5 for 23 at Benoni on 15-04-1998.
  • Curtly Ambrose's figures (8-2-12-1) were the most economical by a bowler in an eight-over spell against Pakistan.
