Western Australia completed their second victory over Tasmania in a matter of days, though not by quite the same margin as when the Tigers were razed for 62 at the Gabba.
Sent in to bat at North Sydney Oval, the Warriors slid to 2 for 9 then 6 for 141 as Sam Rainbird and Andrew Fekete hooped the ball around on a muggy morning. But Ashton Agar and Nathan Rimmington put together a restorative stand of 79, and Andrew Tye's late blows helped push WA up to 268.
The early overs of Tasmania's chase were characterised by forbidding clouds and some light rain, but the worst of the weather avoided the ground and allowed play to continue. Ed Cowan was in fluent touch, cuffing 10 boundaries and a six on the way to 76, but his dismissal, snicking Tye behind, changed the innings.
From 3 for 176, the Tigers lost their last seven wickets for 64, as Agar, Rimmington, Tye, Joel Paris and Jason Behrendorff suffocated the pursuit.
