Ashok Dinda impresses in win against Hyderabad

Ashok Dinda made the most of favourable conditions, and claimed three for 23 in Pune's 34-run win over Hyderabad via the Duckworth-Lewis method in the Indian Twenty20 competition in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Dinda, brought in as a replacement for Ankit Sharma, struck off the fourth delivery of the match and dismissed, David Warner - Hyderabad's highest scorer in the tournament - for zero. The early blow handed Pune's the initiative, as they looked to secure their third match of the competition.
Dinda and his opening partner Mitchell Marsh and later Thisara Perera troubled Hyderabad's batsmen by swinging the ball both ways. Aditya Tare was Dinda's second victim and fell to a miscued pull, which he top edged to Perera at cover.
Hyderabad's middle order, comprising of Eoin Morgan , Deepak Hooda and Moises Henriques, failed to provide any stability and added just four runs to the tally, between them, before they fell. At the ten over mark, Hyderabad had lost five wickets for 42.
Shikhar Dhawan was the only Hyderabad batsman that found his feet. He anchored the innings and remained unbeaten on a 53-ball 56. The 47-run stand between Dhawan and Naman Ojha, for the sixth wicket, was the highest in the innings. But Dinda broke through Ojha's defences in the 17th over and dismissed him. The impressive display with the ball restricted Hyderabad to just 118 in their innings.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave Hyderabad just the start they needed with the ball and dismissed in form Ajinkya Rahane, in the first over of the chase, for zero. An 80-run stand, for the second wicket, between Faf du Plessis and Steven Smith ended Hyderabad's hopes of a win. Rain returned and brought a premature end to the game, with Pune needing just 25. It was the 18th win by a chasing side in 22 games this season.
"All the fast bowlers hit the right length, and Ashwin was also able to bowl the way he normally does. If you don't get wickets upfront, batsmen have license to hit any over. So in that sense, it was a good game overall," Dhoni said.
"There are quite a few teams with four points, so we had to get there. We didn't factor in the rain, we thought it wouldn't. We wanted to bowl first because the wicket stays good right through the 40 overs. The bowlers exploited the conditions well."
