after Mehrab Hossain's 101 (v Zimbabwe also at Dhaka on 25-03-
1999) and Shahriar Hossain's 95 (v Kenya also at Dhaka on 20-03-
1999).The fourth wicket stand of 75 runs between Javed Omar and Akram
Khan is highest for Bangladesh for this wicket against Sri
Lanka. This obliterates the 50 run stand between Athar Ali Khan
and Minhazul Abedin at Calcutta on 31-12-1990 and between
Aminul Islam and Akram Khan at Colombo SSC on 22-07-1997.The sixth wicket stand of 57 runs between Javed Omar and
Khaled Mashud is Bangladesh's best for this wicket against Sri
Lanka. This obliterated the paltry 20 run stand between Aminul
Islam and Golam Faruq at Dhaka on 02-11-1998The seventh wicket unbroken stand of 16 runs between Javed Omar
and Mohammad Rafique is best for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka
for this wicket. This obliterated the previous highest stand of
15 runs between Athar Ali Khan and Enamul Hoque at Calcutta on
31-12-1990 and between Akram Khan and Khaled Mashud at Sharjah
on 06-04-1995.Muralitharan, with his lone wicket in the match, became the
leading wicket taker for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh. He has
now taken seven wickets in three matches against Bangladesh and
he surpassed Ravi Ratnayeke's tally of six wickets from two
matches.Aravinda De Silva's innings (96*) is the second highest for Sri
Lanka against Bangladesh. The highest, however, still remains
Sanath Jayasuriya's 108 at Colombo SSC on 22-07-1997.De Silva has now eight scores in nineties on his name - most by
any batsman in ODI history. He surpassed India's Mohammed
Azharuddin's tally of seven such scores.De Silva has now aggregated 236 runs in 6 matches against
Bangladesh - most for Sri Lanka. He surpassed Arjuna Ranatunga's
tally of 227 runs (from four matches).De Silva has now scored 600 runs in 21 Asia Cup matches. Now only

than DeSilva in Asia Cup.The second wicket unbroken stand of 112 runs between Aravinda
de Silva and Marvan Atapattu is Sri Lanka's best for this wicket
against Bangladesh. This obliterates the 85 run partnership
between Hassan Tillekeratne and Asanka Gurusinha at Calcutta on
31-12-1990.This stand is only the second century stand for second wicket
in Asia Cup matches after the 123 runs partnership between
