Anjum Chopra and Preeti Dimri have been included in the 25 probables named for the Indian women's tour of England. The players will take part in a fitness camp from July 20 to 30.
Chopra and Dimri are two national players who were not picked for the Asia Cup, played in Sri Lanka in May. But both have toured England before, with Dimri, a left-arm spinner, making her international debut in India's 2006 tour.
The other spinners in the squad include Neetu David, Pujare Seema, Thirush Kamini, Diana David, Poonam Raut and Gouher Sultana. Pujare made a memorable debut in the Asia Cup, where she ended up leading the wicket-taker's list with 14 from five games at 8.57. Kamini, from Tamil Nadu, and Pallavi Bharadwaj, from Madhya Pradesh, have been picked to train at Cricket Australia's Centre for Excellence from August 11 to 22.
The squad includes six medium-pacers, who can be expected to have more success in English conditions than the spinners. Jhulan Goswami, one of the fastest bowlers in the women's circuit, leads the pack that includes Rumeli Dhar, Amita Sharma, Snehal Pradhan, Devika Palshikar and newcomer Niranjana Nagarajan. All 15 members of the Asia squad are part of the probables camp.
India play five ODIs and one Twenty20 in England between August 30 and September 9.
Squad: Mithali Raj (capt), Jhulan Goswami, Anjum Chopra, Rumeli Dhar, Amita Sharma, Hemlata Kala, Karuna Jain (wk), Sulakshana Naik, Jaya Sharma, Preeti Dimri, Neetu David, Monica Sumra, Diana David, Niranjana Nagarajan, Gouher Sultana, Snehal Pradhan, Priyanka Roy, Swaroopa Kadam, Poonam Raut, Thirush Kamini, Pallavi Bharadwaj, Devika Palshikar, Pujare Seema, Asha Rawat, Anagha Deshpande.
