Cremer heads to South Africa

Cricinfo has learned that young Zimbabwe legspinner Graeme Cremer, who missed Zimbabwe A's first Test against Bangladesh A at Mutare after he was picked to play, is in South Africa for trials with the Highveld Lions side. It is not clear whether he will be back in the side for the rest of the series.

A former Zimbabwe cricket administrator told Cricinfo that he organised for Cremer and fellow spin bowler Tinashe Ruswa to go the trials with the Lions' Academy side, where another Zimbabwean player, young fast bowler Ian Nicolson, already plays.

Ruswa's job as Zimbabwe's team analyst is no longer assured, and he may be trying to revive his playing career in South Africa.

Reports in the local Zimbabwe press had said Cremer had gone for a medical check-up in South Africa.
