Despite only winning one of their Twenty20 matches, there were some notable performances by Glamorgan players in the zonal round of the new competition, especially by captain Robert Croft and senior player Matthew Maynard.
Robert, who scored 105 runs and took 8 wickets, has won £1,000 for being the runner-up in the all-rounder category, won by Worcestershire`s Gareth Batty, with 150 runs and 9 wickets to his name.
Matthew was the third highest run scorer in the five zonal games, and the 37 year old was the leading English batsman in the competition. As the figures below show, Matthew had the best striking rate and highest aggregate of England-qualified batsmen in the Twenty20 Cup:
