Crushing wins for Northerns and Easterns

Northerns moved up from fourth place to top the Faithwear Cup table after crushing Southerns in a low-scoring round of matches, where both games lasted barely 40 overs. Westerns, who were top after round two, fell apart against Easterns as the competition remained close.

Only three Southerns batsmen reached double figures as they were routed for 74 by Northerns at Harare Country Club. Trevor Garwe and Prince Masvaure took three wickets apiece, while Ray Price didn't concede a run during his four-over spell. Tatenda Taibu then hit 38 off 39 balls as Northerns raced home in 15 overs.
