Sri Lanka Cricket regrets to announce the death of Mr. Gerry Gooneratne Former National Coach and Chairman of the Selection Committee during the sixties and seventies of Sri Lanka Cricket (formerly BCCSL).
Gerry Gooneratne was a fine example to many young Cricketers. He was former Cricket Coach of Nalanda College and during his tenure many reputed National Cricketers received his invaluable coaching.
Gerry Gooneratne also captained Saracens SC.
The President, The Executive Committee and the Management and Staff of Sri Lanka Cricket together with past and present cricketers and Administration extend our deepest sympathies to the family. Sri Lanka Cricket requests' all past, present cricketers and Administrators to assemble at 9.15 am at the crematorium General Cemetery Borella.
