Edwards withdrawn from Barbados squad

Kirk Edwards, the West Indies batsman, was withdrawn from the Barbados squad for disciplinary reasons ahead of their first match in the Nagico Super50 tournament, WICB's regional one-day competition

Kirk Edwards, the West Indies batsman, was withdrawn from the Barbados squad for disciplinary reasons ahead of their first match in the Nagico Super50 tournament, WICB's regional one-day competition. The decision was made by the Barbados Cricket Association on February 1.
"The guys in the team are really disappointed Kirk has been sent home," Barbados manager Hartley Reid told the Daily Nation.
The West Indies Players Association expressed their disappointment at Edwards' withdrawal on a team-kit related matter which, WIPA chief Wavell Hinds said, could have been resolved through "sensible" dialogue.
"After Kirk made us aware that he had been threatened with expulsion from the team, and of the issue which had given rise to the threat, I immediately contacted Mr. Reid and asked if he would be good enough to meet with us and Kirk at the team hotel right after the WIPA AGM which was being held nearby and he agreed," Hinds told. "We were firmly of the view that what Kirk had advised us of as being the issue was a matter which could be easily resolved through sensible and well-intentioned dialogue."
Barbados, led by Kevin Stoute, won their first match of the tournament, beating Trinidad & Tobago by 28 runs in Port of Spain on February 2.
