Frank Chamberlain, the chairman of the Test & County Cricket Board between 1990 and 1994, has died at the age of 78.
Chamberlain, who made six first-class appearances as an amateur for Northamptonshire in 1946, succeeded Raman Subba Row at the helm of English cricket's governing body - the forerunner of the ECB. He served a four-year term before being succeeded by Dennis Silk.
Chamberlain was also chairman of Northamptonshire from 1985 to 1990, and later served as their president. He was educated at Uppingham School, but his playing career was cut short by the demands of business.
