Hampshire today announced their retained list for Season 2001.
Peter Hartley has announced his retirement from First-class cricket [click here for seperate article]
Lee Savident has also retired, he has been plagued with injury for the past three years.
Simon Renshaw who made his first team debut for Hampshire in 1996 is not retained. His matches in the first team have been limited since the arrival of Alan Mullally.
Seam bowler Chris Tremlett has been offered a summer contract, he still has one year at Tauntons College in Southampton to complete.
Left handed batsman John Francis will also take terms, when he returns from Durham University.
Off-spinner Irfan Shah has impressed in the second XI this year, having joined from the MCC Young Cricketers, and he is also added to the staff for 2001.
Andrew Sexton a further player from the MCC YC, he has already made his first-class debut for Hampshire. He joins on a full contract from Dorset.
