Ian Harvey thrashed the first century in Twenty20 Cup cricket as Gloucestershire maintained their 100% record at Edgbaston. Harvey faced only 50 balls, but thwacked 13 fours and four sixes as Warwickshire's modest total was surpassed with 6.5 overs to spare. Earlier Jonathan Trott hit 65* for Warwickshire, but then Harvey came in and made his spot of history.

Neil Killeen took four wickets, including Dominic Cork for 0, but couldn't prevent Derbyshire coming out on top. Their 157, in which Michael Di Venuto and Dominic Hewson both made 36, was just enough: Durham managed only 151, despite Gary Pratt's 62 not out.

A typically attacking innings from Matthew Maynard (72), and an equally brisk one from Michael Powell (66* in 40 balls) lifted Glamorgan to 170 at Sophia Gardens. Worcestershire never threatened, and were shot out for 119 with an over to spare. Robert Croft took 3 for 32, there was a tight spell from Owen Parkin (3-0-9-2), and wickets for unsung bowlers Ryan Watkins (2 for 8) and Daniel Cherry (2 for 6).

Surrey 186 for 8 beat Kent 168 for 9 by 18 runs at Canterbury
Yesterday Azhar Mahmood was straining every sinew for Pakistan at Lord's: today he was on Surrey duty at Canterbury, on the opposite side to Mohammad Sami, who was making his debut for Kent. Azhar came out on top, smiting five sixes in his 57*, lifting Surrey to 186, before taking two wickets as Kent struggled to 168 for 9. It meant that Surrey, with four wins out of four, became the first team to clinch qualification for the finals day at Trent Bridge on July 19.
