Dominic Hewson, the Derbyshire allrounder, spent today in hospital after he was taken ill with heart palpitations.
Hewson, 28, has a heart arhythmia and suffered a prolonged attack after last night's National League game against Nottinghamshire at Derby. With his condition still serious this morning, he was taken to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary and put on a drip.
It was originally thought he would have to stay in overnight, but his condition later improved and it was hoped he would be able to leave hospital this evening. John Smedley, Derbyshire's chief executive said, "I am delighted to say that after going on the drip, his condition quickly stabilised and if it stays like that, there is a good chance he will be allowed to go home."
