Match abandoned at WACA

The Mercantile Mutual Cup match between the Western Warriors and the Queensland Bulls that began at the WACA Ground at 2.30pm today has been officially abandoned.

The decision came after an on-field discussion between Western Warriors captain Tom Moody, Queensland Bulls captain Stuart Law, field umpires Keith Rinaldi and Randolph Woolridge and match referee Ric Evans.

The match was abandoned due to concerns over the welfare of players from both sides.

The WACA, Queensland Cricket Association and the Australian Cricket Board will begin discussions in the hope of rescheduling the match.
