New Zealand v West Indies, 2005-06
Don Cameron
15-Apr-2007
At Queenstown, February 22, 2006. New Zealand won by three wickets. Toss: New Zealand.
Fleming tried his luck by putting West Indies in, and gained quick reward when the openers
soon departed, Gayle falling for a duck to Bond, whose first spell was 6- 4-2-1. Morton dug in
for 39 from 93 balls, while Hinds hit out: they halted the collapse, but the eventual total of 200
only briefly looked like enough. Edwards and Bradshaw had a burst of four wickets for 13 runs
in 20 balls, but Fulton and McCullum settled the nerves with a partnership of 71, and Vettori
guided New Zealand home.
Man of the Match: D. L. Vettori. Attendance: 3,578.
