Scorecard
A strong bowling performance by the Pakistan Under-19 side helped them sneak a 15-run win against their West Indian counterparts to go up 2-1 in the four-match one-day series. In a close encounter in Karachi, the Pakistanis managed just 225 after being put in, thanks to Mohammad Ibrahim's 60. The West Indians were comfortably placed at 151 for 3, but then lost their remaining wickets for 59 to be bowled out for 210.
After losing three early wickets in their run-chase, the West Indians were propped up by a 76-run stand for the fourth wicket between Jason Mohammed (59) and Gajanand Singh (61). However, once that pair was separated, the rest of the batting caved in, with none of the remaining batsmen managing more than 10. Jamshed Ahmed, a left-arm seamer, was the most successful bowler, taking 3 for 39, including the crucial wicket of Gajanand.
Ibrahim had earlier been Pakistan's hero with the bat, steering his side to a competitive total after they had crumbled to 40 for 4. He added 93 for the fifth wicket with Anwar Ali (46), while Sarfraz Ahmed, the captain and wicketkeeper, added 33 to ensure that they went past 200. Javon Searles,a right-arm fast bowler, put in a splendid performance, taking 5 for 33, but despite that effort, Pakistan managed a total which eventually proved to be just beyond the West Indians' reach.
