PAKISTAN v INDIA 1982-83

At Faisalabad, January 3, 4, 5, 7, 8

15-Apr-1984
At Faisalabad, January 3, 4, 5, 7, 8. Pakistan won by ten wickets. For India the one consolation in defeat was Gavaskar's 26th Test century, the same number as Gary Sobers and only three fewer than D. G. Bradman's world record. He also became the first Indian to carry his bat through a completed Test innings, batting for more than seven hours.
Pakistan's victory was another personal triumph for Imran, who, by following his century and six wickets in India's first innings with five more in the second, became only the second player to have scored a century and taken ten wickets in the same Test match, the other being England's Ian Botham at Bombay in 1980. Four centuries in their first innings - by Miandad, Zaheer, Malik and Imran - reflected Pakistan's vast superiority and took them to their highest score against India.
