At Sialkot, December 2. New Zealand won by 34 runs. Pakistan, after winning the toss, put the visitors in and Mohsin Kamal with medium pace and the off-spinner Tauseef Ahmed bowled well to restrict them to 187 in 36 overs. Martin Crowe batted superbly. Wickets fell at regular intervals when Pakistan batted for the New Zealanders to record their first win of the tour in Pakistan.
