At Dubai, November 14, 2011 (day/night). Sri Lanka won by 25 runs. Toss: Sri Lanka.
How much Sri Lanka had missed a genuine strike bowler in the Test series became apparent here as Lasith Malinga - retired from Tests but very much alive in the limited-overs formats - led them to their first win of the tour. Malinga's record against Pakistan had been poor, but he dismissed Mohammad Hafeez and Younis Khan in the first over of the chase, with identical, full outswingers, to stunt their chances of victory. Malinga claimed another in a crucial late spell to quell a high- quality counter-attack from Umar Akmal. His three wickets meant the patient work of Tharanga and an impish return to form for Jayawardene were not wasted.
Man of the Match: S. L. Malinga.
