†PAKISTAN v WEST INDIES 1983-84

At Sydney, January 19 (day/night)

15-Apr-1985
At Sydney, January 19 (day/night). West Indies won by five wickets. West Indies had to struggle harder than the scores may suggest. Having restricted Pakistan to 184 for eight, with Marshall, who was still being nursed for the finals, bowling only six overs, four of them maidens, they appeared to have the simplest of tasks, especially as Haynes and Richardson took the score to 109 for one. Qadir, however, slowed the run-rate dramatically in ten accurate and cleverly executed overs, but Logie and Marshall, chancing their arms, put on 44 in half an hour to assure West Indies of victory.
Man of the Match: R. B. Richardson. Attendance: 15,194.
