PCB Chairman congratulates Pakistan team

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt Gen Tauqir Zia has congratulated the Pakistan cricket team for winning the Sharjah Cup

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt Gen Tauqir Zia has congratulated the Pakistan cricket team for winning the Sharjah Cup. Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by eight wickets on Thursday evening in the desert city.
The PCB Chairman, in a message to Rashid Latif's team, said: "I have watched all your games and feel you all played like a team and gelled together. I have no doubt in my mind that if you continue to show the same dedication, commitment and enthusiasm, you will once again be a force to be reckoned with."
Pakistan's last title was also in Sharjah about a year ago when Waqar Younis's team defeated Sri Lanka in the final. In the last eight months, Pakistan lost tournaments in Tangiers, Colombo and the World Cup in South Africa while it shared the trophy with Australia in Kenya.
However, the Chairman also had a word of advice for the players. "You cannot afford to be complacent. It is just the beginning and a lot of ground has to be covered. You can take inspiration from this victory but to improve your performance and regain the lost glory, you will have to work even harder.
"The PCB will continue to provide you with all the possible facilities in the development of the team."
Pakistan will now play Sri Lanka and New Zealand in a tri-nation one-day series in Sri Lanka between May 5 and 23 while its next assignment will be a three-match one-day international series against England between June 5 and 23.
