At Centurion, January 20, 2008. South Africa won by six wickets. Toss: South Africa.
Rain reduced this to a 36-over match, and after being put in West Indies were quickly in trouble, all five of the home pace bowlers contributing to the wickets column under grey skies. Sammy underlined his all-round potential with 51 - a maiden international half-century - from as many deliveries, including three sixes, two of them in Albie Morkel's last over, which cost 22. Still, 175 was always well short of a par score. Powell bowled Smith in the first over, and de Villiers followed in the fourth to spark an early alarm, but that was as close as West Indies came to making a game of it. Duminy proved to be the consummate finisher throughout the series, and here he and Boucher took South Africa home with two overs to spare. The ease with which they were able to take singles was embarrassing, something which was to be a feature of these matches.
Man of the Match: J-P. Duminy.
