South Africa v Zimbabwe 1999-2000

At Johannesburg, January 21 (day/night)

15-Apr-2001
At Johannesburg, January 21 (day/night). South Africa won by six wickets. Toss: Zimbabwe.
After a poor Test series against England, Cronje was in match-winning form with an unbeaten 83 from 112 balls, during which he became the first South African to score 5,000 runs in limited-overs internationals. His stand of 104 with Gibbs enabled South Africa to recover from a stuttering start in pursuit of a modest target. Cronje hit eight fours and would have had a six had a steward not stepped over the boundary rope and tried, unsuccessfully, to catch the ball. Earlier, Goodwin, with 73 off 71 balls, had helped Zimbabwe overcome a mid-innings wobble that saw them lose three wickets for 11 in 34 balls.
Man of the Match: W. J. Cronje. Attendance: 25,080.
