Sreesanth, the Indian fast bowler, has said that he has recovered sufficiently from the calf injury which ruled him out of the Test series in Bangladesh last month. He has been training at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai and is confident of being fit ahead of the one-off Twenty20 international for the Afro-Asia Cup against Africa XI on June 5.
"I want to take it as it comes," Sreesanth told The Hindu. "I am full of confidence. I am running in well, feeling relaxed."
Both Sreesanth and fellow fast bowler Irfan Pathan have been training under TA Sekhar, the chief coach at the academy. Sreesanth said that he was bowling with little discomfort and added that it felt good to return to the academy and work under Sekhar and Dennis Lillee, the legendary Australian fast bowler.
"Dennis Lillee and Sekar have helped me so much technically and mentally, "Sreesanth added. "When young, one of my dreams was to travel in the Pace Foundation bus along with the others. I learnt my pace bowling here."
Sreesanth bowled just five overs in his last one-day international, against Bangladesh at Mirpur, before he picked up the injury. He wasn't included in the Asia XI one-day squad for the Afro-Asia Cup.
