The leggie's yorker

Virender Sehwag missed many during his 41-ball stay but he showed some vintage touch in three deliveries against Imran Tahir. The third ball of the ninth over of the Kings XI Punjab innings was tossed up around off. Sehwag just cleared the front leg and whacked it over the long-off boundary. Reading what Tahir would do next ball, Sehwag waited back for the short one and cut it with fast hands between backward point and short third man for four. Tahir slid in a quicker one just outside off next, and Sehwag duly opened the face to place it into the same gap for four more.

Sehwag and Wriddhiman Saha had taken Daredevils past 100 for the loss of just one wicket when Amit Mishra was reintroduced. After four singles in four balls, Saha decided to make something of the over, and tried a big sweep. He found his off stump pegged back. Out of nowhere, the legspinner had hurled in a cross-seam yorker at 111 kph, and Saha had been done for pace.

Glenn Maxwell arrived in the 16th over and his first scoring shot was to scoop Tahir for two from outside off. A wary Tahir fired the next four balls in towards the pads, and Maxwell swung two of them for big sixes over deep midwicket. Tahir changed tack for the last ball of the over. He slowed it down and tossed it up outside off. Maxwell stepped out looking for another six, but only sliced it up for a simple catch to cover.

JP Duminy had motored to 21 when he was found short by a combination of misfortune and pretty sharp reaction from Axar Patel. The left-arm spinner stopped a push from Mayank Agarwal off his own bowling. Non-striker Duminy had taken a start and had to turn back. Axar was down on the ground but was alert enough to roll the ball and hit the stumps. To add to Duminy's woes, he tripped over Axar and half-dived, half-fell into the crease. Replays showed the bail had come off just before Duminy's right hand landed inside the crease.
