Netherlands have announced two new faces in a 13-man squad for their Canada tour which kicks off at the end of June.
Mudassar Bukhari, the allrounder, and Atse Buurman, the wicketkeeper-batsman, are set for their international debuts. Buurman, though, is likely to play as a specialist batsman, as the regular keeper Jeroen Smits will captain the team. Tom de Grooth is also recalled.
Worcestershire have released Alexei Kervezee, but Essex have refused to do the same for Ryan ten Doeschate. The latter will be needed for Essex's five Twenty20s while Netherlands are abroad. Bas Zuiderent was not available either.
The 11 players for the Intercontinental Cup tie, which starts on June 28 at Maple Leaf CC, King City, could more or less pick themselves. Billy Stelling has retired from first-class cricket, while Darron Reekers is unlikely to play the four-day game. Their tour concludes with two ODIs, on July 3 and 4.
Canada will then host UAE in the next Intercontinental Cup match in July.
Squad Jeroen Smits (capt, wk), Peter Borren, Mudassar Bukhari, Atse Buurman, Tom de Grooth, Mark Jonkman, Muhammed Kashif, Alexei Kervezee, Adeel Raja, Darron Reekers, Edgar Schiferli, Billy Stelling, Eric Szwarczynski.
