van Troost takes over as Netherlands CEO

Andre van Troost has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Netherlands board (KNCB).

van Troost, 35, had a successful career in English county cricket, playing for Somerset between 1991 and 1998. A back injury caused him to retire in 1999 since when he has been playing club cricket in the Netherlands. He also made 34 appearances for his country.

He had a sound business background with MAs from Gloucestershire and Birmingham universities and has worked for Procter and Gamble.

"I'm really excited by the challenge," van Troost told Cricket Europe. "I truly believe that there's enormous potential there, and that with structured management we'll be able to push things along in the right directions."
