Warner's 92 helps Hyderabad thump Bangalore

David Warner smashed 92 off 50 balls to set up Hyderabad's 15-run rout of Bangalore in Hyderabad

David Warner smashed 92 off 50 balls to set up Hyderabad's 15-run victory at home against Bangalore.
Following an hour-long rain delay, Hyderabad were put in to bat and Warner lost his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan early. He did not let that affect his side's scoring rate though, attacking pacer and spinner alike. Warner found good support from Kane Williamson, brought in for Eoin Morgan, as the pair added 124 runs for the second wicket.
Williamson made a half-century and Warner looked set for his first century of this season, but fell in the 16th over while trying to clear the long-off boundary. Bangalore tried to slow Hyderabad down after that, but a late cameo from Moises Henriques helped them reach 195.
Hyderabad received a huge boost in the chase when Virat Kohli was dismissed for 14 in the sixth over. KL Rahul kept Bangalore ticking with a fluent 51 off 28 and with AB de Villiers at the other end, Bangalore's chase was still alive. De Villiers, however, holed out to Barinder Sran in the 15th over, and with his wicket, Hyderabad's win was all but sealed.
This fifty is Warner's fifth in seven matches this season, and his second against Bangalore. With his 92, Warner reached a tournament aggregate of 386 runs to regain the orange cap.
"I'm over the moon with that win. You never know what a good total is, especially when you're playing a star-studded line-up like RCB," Warner said after receiving the Man-of-the-Match award. "Williamson and I set out to try and get to 100 without losing a wicket. It was fantastic for him to come in and play the way he did. He played the anchor role to take the pressure off me. Moises was fantastic in the end. He's coming in really handy for us."
