India defeated England for the third time in a row in the best-of-seven one-day series and Greg Chappell, India's coach, praised his team for their effort in the post- match press conference.

Emphasizing the need to "keep on performing well", Chappell had words of praise for centurion Yuvraj Singh and Ramesh Powar and Irfan Pathan for their consistent bowling in the series. He also spoke about the inconsistency of senior players such as Mohammad Kaif and Virender Sehwag, maintaining that theirs' was a lean trot and that they needed more opportunities.
