At Bridgetown, February 29, March 1, 2, 4, 5. Drawn. Again England gained a long first-innings lead, despite this time batting second.

On a rain interrupted opening day West Indies scored extremely slowly - 86 off 51.1 overs in three hours, fifty minutes. After ten overs the total was four, including two no-balls, and Camacho plodded wearily throughout the day for 33. Altogether he batted 81 overs.

Sobers and Butcher, who batted four hours, thirty-five minutes, improved the scoring rate, but the innings did not end until mid-morning on the third day. Snow again bowled splendidly, and Pocock steadily and intelligently in his first Test.

Boycott and Edrich batted for the rest of the day, their partnership lasting 77 overs. Boycott fell to the new ball at the start of the fourth day, and, when England's batting wavered, Edrich held the innings together, being helped in a century stand by Graveney. Edrich played a sheet-anchor innings lasting 144 overs in seven hours, fifty minutes.

The lead became substantial when D'Oliveira and Snow briskly hit 57 for the eighth wicket. D'Oliveira drove heartily, and Snow batted with every appearance of comfort and competence.

Next, Snow began the final stages of the match with another fine spell of aggressive fast bowling and took three for 39 in 10 overs. At 109 Lloyd mishooked Jones, and Parks moving wide to leg from the wicket held the ball, but Lloyd was ruled not out. That destroyed England's chance of winning, and the closing stages were featured by free and easy hitting by Lloyd who scored his second century of the series at the rate of almost three an over and hit one 6 and fifteen 4's.
