15-Apr-1963
West Indies won by 123 runs thus completing a clean sweep -- five victories to nil in the rubber.
Another fine innings by Sobers enabled them to recover after a mediocre start and before the close of the first day India were in dire trouble at 33 for five. The man who wrecked their hopes was King, the fast bowler.
Nadkarni and Surti added an invaluable 72 and by the end of the second day India were back in the match, the West Indies having lost six of their second innings wickets for 138.
Kanhai, batting number nine because of a pulled thigh muscle, brought about a recovery by adding 80 runs with Worrell.
India, requiring 358 to win, never looked likely to succeed. Their innings was interrupted by bad weather and was noteworthy only for a seventh wicket stand of 83 between Surti, who hit fiercely, and Umrigar.
