†WEST INDIES v PAKISTAN 1983-84

At Perth, February 4

15-Apr-1985
At Perth, February 4. West Indies won by seven wickets. The genius of Richards flowered at a critical time to provide West Indies with a convincing win. They had enjoyed a bright start from Gabriel, 29 in 32 minutes, but then became tied down as Haynes and Richardson put on only 20 runs in 43 minutes against accurate bowling from Qadir and Mudassar. Richardson's dismissal paved the way for Richards to assert his authority with 40 runs from only 47 balls. Haynes batted through the innings for 78 not out in just three hours. Garner returned for West Indies after missing six WSC matches with a knee injury, and Harper played his first match of the series.
Man of the Match: I. V. A. Richards. Attendance: 14,000 (estimated).
