Australia v South Africa, 2014-15

Wisden's review of the second ODI, Australia v South Africa, 2014-15

15-Apr-2015
At Perth, November 16, 2014. South Africa won by three wickets. Toss: Australia.
Morkel and Steyn dismantled Australia on a WACA pitch that had quickened appreciably since the first game two days earlier. The loss of Warner, shown to have gloved down the leg side on review, for just his second duck in one-day internationals, set in motion a clatter of wickets that not even Marsh's sturdy innings could overcome. Morkel's figures were his best in the format, and South Africa's best in Australia. Their chase rumbled along in fits and starts. De Villiers spent enough time in the middle to ensure Australia could never seriously think about winning, though Hazlewood used bounce and pace to excellent effect. His haul of five for 31 left many to wonder how he might fare whenever the next Perth Test was scheduled. Steyn pounded the winning boundary to give South Africa their eighth win (including three against New Zealand and one against Sri Lanka) in ten one day internationals at the WACA.
Man of the Match: M. Morkel.
