Bangladesh v Zimbabwe, 2015-16

Wisden's review of the second Twenty20 International, Bangladesh v Zimbabwe, 2015-16

15-Apr-2016
Second Twenty20 international At Mirpur, November 15, 2015 (floodlit). Zimbabwe won by three wickets. ‡Bangladesh 135-9 (20 overs) (Anamul Haque 47; T. Panyangara 3-30); Zimbabwe 136-7 (19.5 overs) (L. M. Jongwe 34, M. N. Waller 40; Al-Amin Hossain 3-20). MoM: N. Madziva. MoS: M. N. Waller.
Zimbabwe rounded off an otherwise dismal tour with a last-gasp victory to share the T20 series. Mashrafe bin Mortaza had used up his frontline bowlers, so off-spinner Nasir had to bowl the last, with 18 wanted. Waller was caught in the deep from the first delivery, but Neville Madziva (28*) sliced the next over extra cover for six; finally, with the target reduced to six from two, he smashed Nasir 20 yards over the straight boundary, and celebrated by flinging his bat away and jumping into the arms of his team-mates. Earlier, Anamul Haque had been unable to locate top gear: he entered in the fourth over and was run out in the last, finishing with 47 from 51 balls.
