Cricket Australia XI v Indians

Wisden's review of the second Tour match, Cricket Australia XI v Indians

15-Apr-2015
At Adelaide (Glenelg Oval), December 4-5, 2014. Drawn. ‡Cricket Australia XI 243 (J. C. Silk 58, S. E. Gotch 58*; V. R. Aaron 4-41, K. V. Sharma 3-57) and 83-5; Indians 375 (M. Vijay 60, V. Kohli 66, A. M. Rahane 56, W. P. Saha 51; J. K. Lalor 4-59). Cricket Australia XI chose from 12 players and the Indians 14. The Test series had been due to have started at Brisbane on the first day of this game but, with Phillip Hughes's funeral taking place the day before, the schedule was rearranged, and the Indians squeezed in this warm-up fixture. Neither side shied away from bowling bouncers, with Varun Aaron the pick of the Indian seamers. The tourists continued to experiment in the field: Saha and Naman Ojha alternated as wicketkeeper; most of the batsmen were given a spell in the slips; and Ravi Jadeja and Karn Sharma were preferred as spinners to Ravichandran Ashwin.
