Wisden's review of the first tour match, England XI v Bangladesh Cricket Board Select XI

15-Apr-2017
At Fatullah, October 4, 2016. England XI won by four wickets. ‡Bangladesh Cricket Board Select XI 309-9 (50 overs) (Imrul Kayes 121, Mushfiqur Rahim 51; C. R. Woakes 3-52); England XI 313-6 (46.1 overs) (J. C. Buttler 80*, M. M. Ali 70). England looked in a spot of bother when Ben Stokes fell in the 29th over of the chase, making it 170-5. But skipper Jos Buttler, who hit four sixes (but only three fours), put on 139 with Moeen Ali in 17 overs to ensure victory. Earlier, Imrul Kayes's rapid 121 - he hit six sixes from 91 balls - propelled the BCB XI towards 300. Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim chipped in with 51, and Nasir Hossain a sprightly 46. Jason Roy (28 from 22 balls) and James Vince (48 from 39) gave England's reply a lively start with an opening stand of 72 in 8.4 overs.
