Hayat again proved the mainstay of the Hong Kong line-up and, once he had fallen for a 45-ball 54 at the start of the 16th over, the runs dried up; just 24 came from the last 30 balls, with seamer Mohammad Naveed giving nothing away. Mohammad Shehzad and Mohammad Usman added 79 for the third wicket to keep the UAE on track.
