India v West Indies, 2014-15

Wisden's review of the fourth ODI, India v West Indies, 2014-15

15-Apr-2015
At Dharmasala, October 17, 2014 (day/night). India won by 59 runs. Toss: West Indies.
The formal announcement of West Indies' pull-out was made shortly after the match began, although it was already widely known that they would fly home once it was over. Undeterred, a nearfull house turned up, but the tourists put in a lifeless performance, and India took the truncated series 2-1. Dwayne Bravo, supported by his entire team at the toss, decided to bowl first in conditions that should have tested any batting unit. But his bowlers were all over the place, and Kohli cashed in, wowing an appreciative crowd with a sublime 20th one-day international hundred. It came in only his 133rd innings, easily beating the previous-best of 197, by Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli and Raina, who hit five sixes, put on 138 in 18 overs as India stormed to an imposing total. West Indies never looked likely to chase it down once Smith departed for an 11-ball duck, although Samuels did brighten up a sombre day for Caribbean cricket with another century, which included six sixes.
Man of the Match: V. Kohli.
