Grant Elliott's century was well received at Grace Road, where he had recently been one of Leicestershire's Twenty20 overseas players.Elliott and Luke Ronchi each struck 106*(from 79 and 76 balls respectively), as they added 221*for the sixth wicket. Atif Sheikh, one of three List A debutants - along with Aadil Ali and Rob Sayer- bowled with gusto in an opening spell of 5-0-18-2, but the New Zealanders were assisted by some sloppy fielding. With Trent Boult and Tim Southee rested, Mitchell McClenaghan led a new-look New Zealand attack.
