Wisden's review of the tour match between Sri Lanka Board President's XI v Pakistanis

15-Apr-2016
At Colombo (Colts), June 11-13, 2015. Drawn. ‡Pakistanis 247 (73.3 overs) (Ahmed Shehzad 82, Younis Khan 64; J. D. F. Vandersay 5-73) and 257-7 dec (69.4 overs) (Shan Masood 69; J. D. F. Vandersay 3-94); Sri Lanka Board President's XI 241 (89.1 overs) (J. K. Silva 101; Zulfiqar Babar 6-31) and 129-3 (27 overs) (W. U. Tharanga 50, F. D. M. Karunaratne 54). The Pakistanis chose from 15 players, and the President's XI 14. Pakistan's batsmen gave little sign of the mastery they would eventually attain over SriLanka's spinners, struggling on the first day against the leg-breaks of Jeffrey Vandersay. Kaushal Silva warmed up for the Tests with a diligent century, although his opening partner Dimuth Karunaratne was out second ball. Vandersay added three more wickets in the second innings, while leaking five an over. The President's XI were set 264, but there was time for only 27 overs.
