West Indies v Pakistan

Wisden's review of the second ODI, West Indies v Pakistan

11-Apr-2018
Second one-day international At Providence, Guyana, April 9, 2017. Pakistan won by 74 runs.
Pakistan 282-5 (50 overs) (Babar Azam 125*, Mohammad Hafeez 32, Imad Wasim 43*); ‡West Indies 208 (44.5 overs) (J. O. Holder 68, A. R. Nurse 44; Hasan Ali 5-38). MoM: Babar Azam. Babar moved back to No. 3, scored a career-best 125* from 132 balls, and helped Pakistan reach 282. On a pitch that looked tired after 99 overs in the first match, it was more than enough to square the series. When Hafeez was stumped off a wide in the 26th over, the score was 113-3, and 250 looked a struggle. But a rapid 99-run partnership between Babar and Imad - including 62 off the last five overs - provided match-winning impetus. Hasan then crippled the reply with five wickets. Jason Mohammed, so violent just two days before, faced 16 balls for one, and only Holder and Nurse put up much resistance, making personal-bests and hitting over half the team's runs.
