Zimbabwe v New Zealand, 2015-16

Wisden's review of the third ODI, Zimbabwe v New Zealand, 2015-16

15-Apr-2016
Third one-day international At Harare, August 7, 2015. New Zealand won by 38 runs. New Zealand 273-6 (50 overs) (M. J. Guptill 42, K. S. Williamson 90, G. D. Elliott 36, J. D. S. Neesham 37*; A. G. Cremer 3-44); ‡Zimbabwe 235 (47.4 overs) (H. Masakadza 57, C. J. Chibhabha 32, C. R. Ervine 32, S. C. Williams 63; M. J. McClenaghan 3-36). MoM: K. S. Williamson. MoS: K. S. Williamson.
A rare series victory for Zimbabwe looked a possibility after a fine display in the field limited New Zealand to 273; Graeme Cremer took three wickets with his leg-breaks, and off-spinner John Nyumbu two. Williamson reached 50 for the sixth successive innings in ODIs, but was out in the nineties for the fifth time in 2015 (only Sachin Tendulkar, with six in 2007, had more in a calendar year), after an athletic juggling act by Ervine on the long-on boundary. Masakadza and Chibhabha took advantage of some nervy bowling to give Zimbabwe another good start, but both fell in the space of 11 balls, and after that only Williams could make much progress. From 159-3 the last seven wickets went down for 76, and New Zealand filched the series 2-1.
