Sri Lanka v New Zealand, 2012-13

A review of the third ODI, Sri Lanka v New Zealand, 2012-13

15-Apr-2013
At Pallekele, November 6, 2012 (day/night). Sri Lanka won by seven wickets (D/L). Toss: Sri Lanka.
Once again New Zealand were on the receiving end of the weather. After being sent in, they looked on course for a competitive total, thanks almost entirely to Watling, who hit a dozen fours but was left stranded on a career-best 96 - their innings was shortened to 33 overs after two rain interruptions. Sri Lanka's target was increased slightly to 197 and, although three wickets went down inside the first 15 overs, they galloped home with 11 deliveries to spare, as the bowlers struggled to grip the ball in the greasy conditions. Dilshan reached his 14th one-day hundred, despite having pain-killing injections after straining a back muscle in the warm-up; he missed the rest of the one-day series and the First Test.
Man of the Match: T. M. Dilshan.
