Zimbabwe v Pakistan

At Harare, December 1, 2002

15-Apr-2004
At Harare, December 1, 2002. Pakistan won by 70 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe.
Unexpectedly, Pakistan's top order struggled, but their colleagues still reached 300 for the fourth game in five to set up a series whitewash. Friend and Olonga bowled impressively with the new ball, demolishing the first three for 39, and Hondo also caused problems. But Yousuf Youhana, inevitably, and Younis Khan came to the rescue, adding 129 before Youhana was dismissed for the only time in the series, run out backing up. Andy Flower led the home side's chase but, once he was third out, the middle order caved in feebly, though Olonga and Hondo put on 47, a Zimbabwean last-wicket record. Younis held four catches and pulled off two run-outs. It was also a memorable match for Shoaib Akhtar: he bowled a venomous spell which touched 99.3 mph, but sledged the batsmen and threw a plastic bottle towards some hecklers, for which he received a fine and a one-match suspension.
Man of the Match: Younis Khan. Man of the Series: Yousuf Youhana.
