Robin Singh to coach USA Under-19

ESPNcricinfo staff

Robin Singh, the former India allrounder, has been appointed coach of the USA's Under-19 team and is in talks with United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) about taking over the national team as well. He will help the Under-19 team prepare for the ICC Americas Region Division 1 tournament, which begins in February, and replace Sew Sewnarine as coach.

He previously coached the IPL franchise Deccan Chargers and is presently involved with the Mumbai Indians. He had also been fielding coach of the Indian team and has played 136 ODIs.

Ganguly shown exit door to you when 2003 World cup team selection happened. Biggest mistake in that situation. Now history repeated to him, he is facing same, all IPL teams shown exit door to him. God is always there.

You are true cricket lover, you got good assignment. Indian sportsman in USA soil. Great. You can build good cricket team there, since team selection is based on only talent, not based on state.

Hope Robin is a miracle worker, not just a really good coach which he is. He has been handed a poor hand in the way the team selection has gone on for the U19s. And he has to see to it that US gets past some stiff competition.

may God have mercy on Robin Singh... as fantastic a fielder and player he has been, the current political state of USA cricket is worse than India and Pakistan's combined... i am not sure about the quality of players as i dont get to see or read much about them but it is a fact that Robin will have his task cut out if he has to make an impression on them. He has been a fantastic player to watch and i wish him all the best in his coaching endeavours !
