The latest Somerset player off Millfield School's production line, seam-bowling allrounder Ned Leonard made his first-team debut as an 18-year-old in the 2021 Royal London Cup.
He has also represented Devon, and signed a new contract ahead of the 2023 season after his previous summer was ruined by a lower-back stress fracture.
"Ned possesses pace, the ability to generate movement both in the air and off the pitch," Andy Hurry, Somerset's director of cricket, said. "He has the potential to be a threat across all formats with both the new ball and the old ball."
